Goodwood Festival of Speed is a perfect event for Mercedes-AMG to introduce their Mercedes-AMG GT R. Named as AMG Green Hell Magno, the AMG GT R is being developed and test at the Nurburgring. It powered by a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine found from standard AMG GT. But It has new turbos, modified software, redesign exhaust ports and different compression ratio which help to squeeze more power from the engine. Other than that, this AMG Green Hell Magno has a lighter flywheel and short gear ratio compared to the GT S version which gives better shifting and improves acceleration.
On its exterior, the AMG GT R has a big fixed rear wing, wider front and rear fenders and larger exhaust tailpipes. There are a lot of carbon fiber material specially made for this AMG GT R including the front fenders and its roof.
In one of the following videos, it shows the AMG GT R able to tackle tight corners on high speed. Mercedes-AMG had full rework on the GT R suspension system. It now features forged aluminum wishbones, knuckles and hub carriers at the front and rear section. The new AMG Ride Control allow the driver to adjust its coil-over suspension manually to meet the driving style.
