Rowan Atkinson Successfully Sells His #McLaren F1

Rowan Atkinson successfully sells his McLaren F1 through a specialist car dealer Taylor and Crawley. There are only 63 units that ever built and one of it was owned by the famous actor Rowan Atkinson who play Mr Bean character. The McLaren was involved in accident twice and have gone through a rebuilt for $1.44 million.


Atkinson bought his previously owned McLaren back 1997 for £540,000. He is asking for a nearly £8 million from the new potential owner. The final selling price and the new owner remain as a secret.


David Clark who is the boss for Taylor and Crawley confirmed he has sold the car. He is also the man who originally sold Atkinson the F1 back in 1997. He said:

Everyone is very pleased with the sale. There was interest from around the world and it has gone to a British buyer who will drive it like Rowan did. It is one of the biggest ever deals in the UK. Rowan is pleased, but also maybe a bit sad as he did 40,000 miles in it.

Previously, Atkinson said the main reason he selling his McLaren F1 car is because and his childrens are no longer fit inside it. It is not a fun drive it anymore and he want somebody else to enjoy the car. Although he had involve the car in an accident, McLaren have done a good job repair back the car back to its good condition.
