Volkswagen will drop “Das Auto” slogan as part of their plan to rebuild their corporate image. “Das Auto” which means “The Car” was launched in 2007 by former VW CEO Martin Winterkorn to reflect their simplicity. Now, the German automaker want something more close to human and that is the main reason the current slogan will be dropped.
“Wherever our logo appears in future, it will be backed by the new brand slogan ‘Volkswagen. The slogan will be rolled out in stages across the world.” – Volkswagen spokesman
Volkswagen will have a hard time to gain back trust from their customers but they should be fine.
